You can easily spend $15 per person per meal, which adds up to $210 per person per week!

 

It makes good sense to cut your eating costs if you are looking to travel on a budget. You’ve got to eat, so how can you eat cheaply? Even better, how can you eat for free? We’ve found the answers! Here are several great ways that you can eat for free while on vacation:

 

Look for Happy Hours

 

There is a bar or pub in virtually every city you will travel to. Many of these places will offer free food during their happy hours. If you plan on drinking anyway, head to the bar when you can couple your cocktail with a free meal. If you don’t drink alcohol, this obviously won’t work, but, if you do, it’s a great way to score free food.

When you are booking your hotel, look for one that offers a complimentary breakfast.
