Stone Mountain is a huge monolith that juts out of the ground. It is inspiring to see. It is part of a large many, many acre park including Inn, lake and campground. Each area is a bit of a walk from the other areas, but they do run a shuttle.
Our family spent a day at Stone Mountain Park last week. This included my mother, my father, my wife and me, and our 2 year old daughter.

The “Ride the Ducks” attraction was pretty good. It’s just basically a ride on land and water. Enjoyed the duck ride – the driver made it really fun and if you have children, he lets all the children take turns driving the duck on the water.

We shuttled back to ride the sky lift to the top of the mountain, which looked like the surface of the moon as you exited the sky tram. It was rounded and dimpled, softly cratered. None of us thought it was unnerving. We took pictures which looked like we were standing at the edge of cliffs. We didn’t find it too steep for walking all around.

For the laser show,we got some sandwiches and blankets and brought them to the area in front of Stone Mountain. It’s an open field, so pick a spot, eat some supper, and stay for the lazer show. The lazer show was spectacular! It was very good and well worth the trip. It was great and made the whole day. Be careful leaving the park afterwards though because there can be a lot of traffic.
The best feature of the park though has to be the fantastic scenery. it was spring whilst we were there and the whole place was fabulous.
