Traveling with the family can be a very fun and rewarding experience. It is nice to have the ones you love close at hand when going leaving the home for business. However, there are things to be cautious of. Adequate preparation and some initial thought will go along way to ensure that everyone has the best possible time whilst away from home. Here are some suggestions to make your next adventure with the whole family fun and successful.

First and foremost, do research before going anywhere with a group. How many people are you going with? What are their ages? Having a plan will go along way when traveling and it is absolutely essential to avoiding potential problems. Use the internet to research your destination before going. Find where locals enjoy spending their time. Make sure the places you plan to go are accommodating for everyone in the group. A solid plan will go a long way to ensuring a pleasurable experience.
Next, consider how long your trip will be. Will you be staying for more than four days? If so, trips can be extremely expensive, particularly when traveling with a group. Have some ideas that will not cost a lot of money. This can include things like a trip to the local parks or seeing landmarks in the area. Avoiding large tourist attractions not only eliminates run ins with large crowds but is also light on the pocket book. Again, you can use the internet to find the best locations for parks and lesser known attractions.

Eating Arrangements

Eating can present some difficulty as well. Some places might be overly expensive. Others may not present the correct atmosphere for children. Look for places that are both cheap and delicious. There might be some places that give discounts for families or let children eat for free. Food is one of the biggest expenses for any trip. Feeding four or more people can be very expensive. Another idea is to go to a local grocery store and purchase bulk items. Every meal does not have to be eaten in a restaurant setting. Saving money will make the trip less stressful and more enjoyable for everyone who participates.
Next, it might be nice to enjoy the day without the kids. Look for a place with trustworthy people to let the children go when you and your spouse take some time of and enjoy each others’ company. Another option is to let the kids stay in the hotel and put on a movie while you and your partner go to a nice meal in an upscale restaurant.

Business travel can be stressful. Running back and forth to meetings, getting work done on the plane, catching international phone calls on the go, and networking relentlessly from dawn until dusk can take a lot out of you. When you are travelling for business, it is crucial to choose a good hotel where you can rest, rejuvenate, and gain back the energy you need to excel at your job.

Choosing a business hotel is different than choosing accommodation for a holiday, as you will be looking for different amenities and features. A great hotel should have everything you need to get your work done, as well as plenty of luxury and comfort to keep you well rested and fresh.

Here are some things to look for in a business trip hotel:

  • A clean and comfortable room with a space to get some work done.

It is always a huge perk to have a desk and WiFi access in your room. Of course, many hotels will have public wireless internet access in the lounge, but it can be distracting working in a public place. If you really want to focus on finishing that report or presentation, it’s nice to be able to work in solitude in your own space.

  • Fast internet.

If the connection is not very strong you can waste a lot of time waiting to be connected, and that is valuable time that you need to get your work done.

  • A convenient location.

Choose a hotel in a safe neighbourhood close to the airport or to the conference centre where you will be conducting business. Being close to the airport, in a hotel such as the Park Inn Hotel Heathrow, will cut down your travel time and a hotel close to your business venue will eliminate the need to take public transport or rent a car.

  • 24 Hour Room Service

This can be a huge perk on a business trip, because sometimes you can return from a meeting at odd hours and need something to eat.

  • Early breakfast service.

If you are up and out of the hotel too early to sit down and have a leisurely breakfast, look for a hotel that provides an early breakfast service for business travellers.

Everyday, people are on the move for business. Rather it is state, nation, or world wide, travel can take a toll on anyone. Here are some tips to make business travel a bit less stressful, and a bit more bearable.
First, I would, (or your assistant), book your seats as far in advance as possible, and be sure to keep a copy of the confirmation with you for the day of travel. Computers have been known to fail. In case of a downed computer system, you can verify that you did purchase a seat for your departure day.
If you are returning to a city previously traveled to, request a certain seat. If you remember an area you would have liked to have been seated at, request that seat for the upcoming trip. Even if you are not planning on using it, always carry your laptop with you, instead of sending it with your luggage. Baggage handlers can scratch, tear, dent, and damage laptops even in the most padded of cases. Planning for the worst is a good plan. Suitcases and bags do have a tendency of getting misplaced. For this reason, it is good practice to buy a lightweight bag to store a change of clothes, cell phone and laptop chargers, paper, pen, etc. For more convenience, select a backpack style with straps for easy carry. Pack a couple of extra USB memory sticks, for those times you can’t connect your laptop. This will save the presentation.
Always carry extra cash on you, as computers don’t always work, credit card machines also have their own down times. This will keep you from an embarrassing situation. Try not to work while traveling. Use the time to relax and to prepare yourself for the work needed to be done once you have arrived.
Always carry a bottle of water with you, even in the business class, they may not provide you with enough. This will keep you from becoming slightly dehydrated.
If you are staying in the same motel for two consecutive nights, take this opportunity to do some laundry, which will allow you to pack (and carry) less. The last tip in the top ten is a safety one. Never be the first, or last, person to leave a night gathering. If possible, always exit with another person.
