Tips for Traveling During Pregnancy

While being pregnant isn’t a reason to put your entire life on hold, it does mean a certain number of changes. Whether you only travel once in a while or you burn up the roads and the sky, you should take the proper precautions to make sure both you and your baby are safe as you move from place to place. Follow these tips while traveling during your pregnancy:

Ask Your Doctor

Always follow your doctor’s advice. While he’ll probably tell you it’s OK to go on that special trip, he may have some reason you should wait until after you deliver. Certain countries should probably be on your personal no-fly list – as in, you shouldn’t fly there. You wouldn’t want to expose your baby to a tropical disease or some other infection that isn’t typically a problem in developed countries.

Don’t Miss Any Testing

When planning a trip, schedule your away-time around your pre-natal testing requirements. For example, a pregnancy in week 28 requires a glucose screening test. This tells you if you’re developing pregnancy-related diabetes, a critical piece of information for the expectant mom.

Create an Emergency Contact List

Just in case something unfortunate does happen, never leave home without an emergency contact list. This should include the names and phone numbers of your emergency contacts in addition to your medical team. The latter could include your regular doctor and your obstetrician. Before you call it a job-well-done, add your vital information including your due date, the date of last menstrual cycle, any medical problems and your prescription medications. If you’re getting pretty far along, include a copy of your medical tests as well.

Pack Your Medications

In addition to your prescription drugs, bring along plenty of pre-natal vitamins and over-the-counter medications. Keep your prescriptions in their regular bottles just in case there are any questions during a bag check.

Check Your Insurance Policy

If you go into labor while you’re out of town or out of the country, will your health insurance provider pay? While most will, some won’t. You may also want to buy travel insurance that includes medical transport back to your hometown just in case something happens. This type of coverage would also reimburse you for your out-of-pocket expenses if you have to cancel your trip at the last minute due to complications with your pregnancy.

Take Precautions if Driving

While long-distance flights have their own hazards, a road-trip isn’t without potential problems. Invest in an auto club policy if you don’t have one just in case you break down or have a flat. Never leave home without a cell phone.

London has generated endless levels of excitement ever since it was chosen to host the 2012 Olympic Games. Twenty-six sports are set to take place in the capital at various venues over the summer and travellers from all over the world are planning a trip to view the sport of their choice.

People from Britain and other countries are expected to flock to the capital during the games, taking advantage of the free events and various attractions that will be available. When planning a trip anywhere the location is always paramount, but for many of us once the location has been decided, what to do whilst we are there becomes the next part to fathom. So, for example, if you have decided to visit Ireland and your interests are music, film and art, you would want to know the best places to go to soak up these parts of the culture. Dublin would seem the obvious choice for many of us as it is the capital city and it is the most populated city in Ireland.

Dublin takes pride in classing itself as a musical city and has a vibrant and lively music scene. Acts such as U2, The Frames and Samantha Mumba originate from Dublin. Dublin is also the home to many live music venues where you have the chance to experience traditional Irish music through to heavy metal. Many visitors to Dublin want a chance to hear traditional Irish music live. This music is most commonly found in pubs and has flourished remarkably over the years. Some of the best places to head are: ‘The Porter House in Temple bar,’ ‘The Arlington Hotel’ and ‘Wheelans’. How to Get Cheap Holidays In Fiji

Are you planning a vacation? How about planning a trip to Fiji so you can see the Naihehe Caves or Sigatoka? If you want to relax on the beach, try the Natadola Beach with its white sands and shade trees. There are so many things to do when you are looking for cheap holidays in Fiji.

Once you arrive in Sigatoka to begin your cheap holidays in Fiji, take a ride up to Nadi to view the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple. The temple has beautiful architecture that you’ll want to admire. Then take off to the Fiji Museum in Suva to view exhibits that date back approixamtely 3,000 years. To date, the Fiji Museum is the oldest in the South Pacific. Walk around the Suva Municipal Market while you are in the town to view the sights and get something for yourself. While you are in Suva, visit Parliament and Albert Park.

Those cheap holidays in Fiji are going to get even more thrilling. Head up to Nausori and view the Garden of the Sleeping Giant. Raymond Burr, the star of Perry Mason thought this idea up. It contains over 2,000 types of orchids. Burr loved to give orchids on his shows so this is a must see when you visit Fiji.

Once you’re through seeing this area of Fiji, it’s time to visit Taveuni Island more specifically the Bouma National Heritage Park. This rainforest allows for hiking and swimming without the dangers of a regular rainforest. Take a nature walk along the Lavena Coastal Walk trail. From here, you’ll see black sands and more forests.

Be sure to visit the Taveuni Island’s Tavoro Waterfalls during your cheap holidays in Fiji. This is the one place where you will find peace and serenity. Once you are done with all the day’s events, take a relaxing seat at one of the local clubs in the Fiji. Every bit of Fiji you see is worth the money that you spend.
