If possible choose a travel agency which is well known and has the goodwill of its customers. Do not choose any agency just because it is offering huge discounts to you. You have to be very careful while you are travelling, because there are many scammers who can easily cheat you.

You will experience more trouble in big cities rather than in small cities. Many tourists get cheated because of first time travel, language problem, difference in the cultures and unfamiliarity of the location. If you are travelling in a large group then scammers can not easily cheat you.

Many local shop keepers and people can easily recognize you as foreigners and so they try to take the full advantage of your innocence by selling you things at a price much higher than the original cost. You should also be very careful of pick pockets, always stay in your group and do not wander off in dark alley ways. Collect enough information before taking the tour of the foreign place alone.

It would be best for you to know the exact worth of the foreign currency from before if you are travelling overseas. If you are not aware of this fact then any one can cheat you by giving you less in exchange of the foreign currency. The taxi drivers of many countries also take undue advantage of the visitors, because the tourists are not aware of the location or the exchange rates.
