The search for exotic Thai food in Atlanta should culminate with Tamarind Seed restaurant. The restaurant is located on Peachtree Street in the northeast part of Atlanta. Chef Nan owns Tamarind Seed. She started her career at a young age of 19.She acquired expertise in Thai cuisine from her mother. Chef Nan continues to enchant people with her recipes till date. Tamarind seed is a fine dining restaurant. They have a good ambience with lot of aesthetic appeal.
The food served is really authentic. Coconut is actively used in the preparations. Even the most common Thai dish like Phad Thai (stir fried noodles) is presented in the most elegant manner. Main course has between 25-30 dishes. Nearly 20 of which are Chef Nan’s own creations.
Chef does not compromise on the traditional Thai ingredients. This is the reason why restaurant has always been able maintain the taste and the quality of the food.
Thai cuisine has all the flavours –sweet, tangy, spicy and hot. At Tamarind Seed, no MSG (monosodium glutamate) is used in any of the recipes. The food can range from very hot and spicy to mild. Gang Khew Whan is really hot. It is marinated beef, chicken or pork cooked in coconut milk and green curry. Basil, Thai eggplant, bell peppers and beans are combined with the meat. Lot of herbs and spices make the food taste really unique. Peppers, garlic, ginger, beans are the common ingredients.
Appetizers include rolls and dumplings. Most of them are served with accompaniments like tamarind sauce, chilli sauce that are unique in taste. Traditional salads are surely amazing. In Tamarind Seed, something as simple as sautéed mixed vegetable is made to look and taste so interesting. It is an excellent combination of vegetables and herbs. The restaurant also serves wine.
The Tamarind Seed is just the right place for Thai cuisine. All the items are moderately priced and ideal for a quiet romantic evening. Interested people must get the tables booked in advance, especially over the weekends.
