The feel of elegance brought by the great architecture, breathtaking natural sceneries, history, arts, sports, and media of Washington DC is definitely worthy to be put up in every travel guide and books available in the market and in the internet. With this fact in mind, it is not trivial that Washington DC is one of those few places in the States where regular travelers and tourists flock. From the world-renowned and very accommodating Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) to the different executive sedan services being offered in Washington DC, there will not be a minute of uneasiness for the tourists. Riding in an executive sedan in Washington DC and an executive limo in Washington DC will surely add up to the feeling of formality and elegance to the visit.
Architecture aficionados will surely find Washington DC a haven since almost every architectural design developed for a building can be seen in the city. Six of the top ten buildings in the American Institute of Architects’ 2007 ranking of “America’s Favorite Architecture” are located in Washington, particularly in the District of Columbia. Neoclassical, Georgian, Gothic, and Modern architectural styles are all reflected among the six buildings mentioned in the ranking and many other prominent government buildings in Washington.
Washington, D.C. is a national center for the art and is also prominent in terms of national and international media. The John F. In relation to media, there are many prominent newspapers in Washington. This includes: The Washington Post, the oldest and most-read local daily newspaper in Washington; the Express, which summarizes events, sports and entertainment; The Washington Times; and the weekly alternative Washington City Paper.
Aside from the prominence of daily and weekly papers in Washington, according to Wikipedia, the Washington Metropolitan Area is the ninth-largest television media market in the U.S. Several media companies and cable television channels have their headquarters in the city.
Washington DC is not to be underestimated in terms of sports. It is home to five major professional men’s teams. The Washington Wizards (NBA) and the Washington Capitals (NHL) both play at the Verizon Center in the Chinatown. The Washington Nationals (MLB), on the other hand, plays in the Nationals Park, which recently opened this 2008. The D.C. United (MLS) plays at RFK Stadium. I would love to take a trip to DC, what a dream come true. I’ve explored the US in quite some detail and DC does seem to be one of the best places to visit!
